The project developed by Director of Academics in Saveetha University,Dr.Deepak Nallaswamy, breaks the monotony of hours of lectures and replaces it with facilitator mediated active learning process.

Saveetha College of Nursing celebrated the 'World Menopausal Day'



Chennai: Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing  department of Saveetha College of Nursing celebrated the 'World Menopausal Day'
at Saveetha Medical College and Hospital on 29th October 2015.
Around 46 womens in the age group of 45–55 years were present in the event.
The programme started with Thamizh Thai Vazhthu,
in the presents of Principal  Dr. P. Mangala Gowri,HOD-S.Kalabarathi,
Asst.Prof.Vaijayanthi Mala,Muthulakshmi,along with B.Sc Nursing IVth year and M.Sc Nursing Ist year students.

HOD of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing S. Kalabarathi,
emphasized  the significance of the theme for celebrating Menopausal Day this year.
This was followed by Explanation of Menopause -its signs and symptoms and its management at
home by Lakshmi and Ms.Anushuya.B.Sc Nursing IVth year students, the participants were eager to
know and understand many facts on Menopause. The importance of menopausal health and life
style modification related diseases were also discussed.
B.Sc Nursing IVth year student Rupa Mercy welcome the gathering
and B.Sc Nursing IVth year student Krithika proposed a vote of thanks.

Saveetha University, Chennai entered into a MoU


Maharastra National Law University( MNLU),Mumbai and Saveetha University, Chennai entered into a Memorandum of Understanding  at Saveetha University campus, Thandalam.on28th October 2015.
The MoU was signed between the Vice-Chancellor of MNLU Prof.Dr. Bhavani Prasad Panda, and the Vice-Chancellor of Saveetha University Dr. Mythili Bhaskaran in the presence of Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan, the Hon’ble Chancellor of Saveetha University, Dr. Rajagopal, Advisor of Saveetha UniversityDr. D.Prabhavathy,Registrar of Saveetha University, Prof. Dr. R. Anita Rao, Director, Saveetha School of Law. MNLU situated in Mumbai  under the National Law School of
India Act ,under Maharastra State. Saveetha Universitysituated in Chennai was declared as “Deemed to be University” under Sec. 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 in the year 2005 offers various Medical and Technical Courses namely Dental, Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Management and Law. Saveetha University has desired to establish academic collaboration with Institutions of Excellence in Law in India and MNLU is one among such recognized institutions for the purpose of Academic Collaboration that will encompass exchange of students and members of faculty between both the universities besides other academic activities, research and publication.
The Memorandum of Understanding ensures co-operation in building intellectual, teaching, training and research capacity and research scholarship in Law, whereby faculty members from each of the universities would be invited for important seminars, conferences and for teaching at doctoral level and Ph.D. Scholars would be able to make use of the library resources of each other and to have academic interaction with the faculty.

The sports day of Saveetha School of Engineering


The sports day of Saveetha School of Engineering was held on
19th of October 2015at Saveetha School of Engineering .
Padmashree Mr.V.Baskaran, Arjun awardee, and Former captain-Indian Hockey  team was
the chief guest.
 Vice Principal,Dr.D.Dhanasekaran who gave  welcomed the
 gathering,a brief introduction of the chief guest was given.
Padmashree Mr.V.Baskaran , He captained the Indian team, which won the
gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Soviet Union
 which was followed by a speech by our chief guest who motivated
the participants and also spoke about the importance of sports and games.
 The participants did the March Past Parade honoring the flag which was
 followed by the drills. The chief guest lit the College Olympic Torch and
handed it over to the champion of the college,Mr.Arunachalam,whohas won
 2 bronze and silver medals in the state athletic meet 2012 and 2013.The torch
 was then handed over to Mr.Rakesh,a National level handball player followed
by handing over the torch to Ms.R.K.Divya,a specialist in 800 meters and won
the college individual championship in athletics for 3 consecutive years. The
champions took the Olympic Oath. Later, the chief guest released the pigeons
signifying peace and prosperity. Then the Chief guest declared the Sports Meet open,
which was followed by the  track and field events for 4*100 relay boys category ,
 4*100 relay girls category,4*400 relay boys category,100 m girls,100 m boys
and 200 m boys.The overall championship for the sports day was bagged by the team
 ”STARKS” led by Captain Jayachandran.

 Signing the MoU on Saveetha University premises

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, premier law school in India and Saveetha University, Chennai entered into a Memorandum of Understanding. (on Wednesday, 14/10/2015). The MoU was signed recently at Saveetha university premises by  Vice-Chancellor of NLSIU Prof. Dr. R. Venkata Rao and the Vice-Chancellor of Saveetha University Dr. Mythili Bhaskaran in the presence of Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan, the Hon’ble Chancellor of Saveetha University, Dr. Rajagopal, Advisor of Saveetha University and Prof. Dr. R. Anita Rao, Director, Saveetha School of Law.
NLSIU situated in Bangalore was established in the year 1987 under the National Law School of India Act (Karnataka Act 22 of 1986) with the Chief Justice of India as its Chancellor. It is the first and the only law university fully supported by the Bar Council of India and the Bench. Saveetha University situated in Chennai was declared as “Deemed to be University” under Sec. 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 in the year 2005 offers various Medical and Technical Courses namely Dental, Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Management and Law.

No.1504083689. admitted under Unit – I,Saveetha Medical College(Dr.Asha Moorthy)for paroxysmal supra ventricular  tachycardia underwent EP study with RFV puncture plus internal jugular vein puncture  Inducible typical AVNRT.  successful   Radio ablation  his rhythm converted   to sinus rhythm. Patient is fine recovering well in ICU. Done under CM SCHEME

Mrs. Shanthi 35 year/ F Ip.No.1509300193. admitted under Unit - I , saveetha Medical College ( Dr.Asha Moorthy) with WPW syndrome AV nodal  reententrant  tachycardia underwent EPS study with RFV puncture plus internal jugular vein puncture  WPW syndrome right  postero  septal pathway typical AVNRT.  successful Radio ablation  his rhythm converted  to sinus rhythm. Patient is fine recovering well in ICU. Done under CM SCHEME.

 “EARLY IDENTIFICATION AND PREVENTION OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE”





The mental health Nursing department Saveetha College of Nursing organized a continuing nursing education on “EARLY IDENTIFICATION AND PREVENTION OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE”. The programme started at 9.15am with Tamil Thai Vaazthu followed by welcome address. Totally 130 registrants have attended CNE programme. The registrants were from Saveetha College of Nursing(79), Saveetha College faculties(18) and Saveetha Medical College and Hospital Nursing staffs(20). The first session of the programme on “Prevalence and Impact of Alzheimer’s Disease” by Dr.Selvaraj Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatric, Saveetha Medical College and Hospital. B. Sc nursing students cleared their doubts from Dr. Selvaraj after his session. The next session on “The Earlier the   Better: Advancements in Alzheimer’s Disease detection and early prevention” by Dr.Fabiola, Principal, Arulmigu Meenakshi Collge of  Nursing, Kancheepuram. The third session on “Nurses Role in Home Care Management of Patients with Alzheimer’s Disease” by Mrs.S.Sujithra, Assistant Professor, Saveetha College of Nursing, Saveetha University, Thandalam. The fourth session on “Cognitive Training: A Hands on Training  Session “ by Mr. Dhinakaran Lecturer, in Clinical Psychology, Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Chennai. The afternoon session by Mr.Alfered Solomon, Clinical Instructor, Saveetha College of Nursing, on “Myths about Alzheimer’s Disease”. The programme came to end with valedictory function.

Chennai: Saveetha Medical College, Saveetha University, Chennai organized a lecturer in Padmasri Dr. K.V. Thiruvengadam Oration-2015 titled 'Translational Research in Epilepsy'by Prof. Dr.Satishchandra at Kurinji hall,Saveetha Nagar Thadalam on Sunday.

Dr.N.M.Veeraiyan, Founder President and Chancellor of Saveetha University was the chief guest.
Saveetha Medical college Director,Dr.Saveetha Rajesh,welcomed the gathering
and Medical College Dean Dr.Gunasagaran proposed a vote of thanks.

நிகழ்ச்சியில் சவீதா பல்கலை கழக வேந்தர் வீரையன், பத்மஸ்ரீ.டாக்டர்.திருவேங்கடம், பெங்களூர் தேசிய மனநலம் மற்றும் நரம்பியல் மருத்துவ துறையின் இயக்குனர், துணைவேந்தர். பேராசிரியர். டாக்டர்.சதீஷ்சந்திரா, சவீதா மருத்துவ கல்லூரி இயக்குனர் சவீதாராஜேஷ், சவீதா மருத்துவ கல்லூரி டீன் குணசாகரன், நரம்பியல்துறை மருத்துவர் ஷாகிர்ஹகமதுசையத் ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

கருத்தரங்கில் பேசிய பத்மஸ்ரீ.டாக்டர்.திருவேங்கடம் நாட்டில் உள்ள மக்கள் தொகையில் 100சதவீதம் பேரில் 2சதவீதம் பேருக்கு வலிப்பு நோய் இருப்பதாக  கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது. வலிப்பு நோய் என்பது ஒரு பொதுவான நோய். வலிப்பு நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டோரில் 50சதவீதம் பேர் சிகிச்சை பெறாமல் உள்ளது ஆராய்ச்சி மூலம் தெரியவந்துள்ளது. வலிப்பு நோயாளிகள் உடனடியாக மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை பெற்றால் வலிப்பு நோயை குணபடுத்தலாம். நோய் முற்றினால் உயிருக்கு ஆபத்து ஏற்படும். நம் நாட்டில் வலிப்பு நோய் குறித்த ஆராய்ச்சி எந்த நிலையில் உள்ளது. மேலும் இதுபற்றி சவீதா மருத்துவ பல்கலைகழகம் மூலம் சென்னை,நகர்புற,மற்றும் கிராமப்புற நரம்பியல் சமந்தப்பட்ட ஆய்வு மிக விரைவில் நடத்தபடவுள்ளது. ஆய்வுக்காக 50கிராமங்களை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து அங்குள்ள மக்களுக்கு நரம்பியல் சமந்தப்பட்ட நோய்கள் எவ்வாறு ஏற்படுகின்றன. எந்த விதமான தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது. அதனை எப்படி தடுப்பது. அதற்கான சிகிச்சை முறைகளை பற்றி ஆராய்ச்சி செய்யவுள்ளோம். ஐந்து வருடம் முழுமையாக ஆராய்ச்சி செய்து வலிப்பு நோய் வருவதற்கு காரணமான பிரச்சனைகளை சரி செய்ய உள்ளோம் என இவ்வாறு பேசினார்.
