An Oral Health Awareness Camp “Making Children Smile” at The Pupil Saveetha Eco School.
Chennai: Nov.28,2015, Balwant Singh Grewal aged 80, Chairman of the British charity, India
Association. Balwant (affectionately known as Bobby) has been raising funds for the charity.
Bobby began his first charitable work in 2001when he ran the London Marathon
aged 66 raising funds for the National Blind Children’s Society UK. Similarly, he had
done charity work in India also. The funds raised by the marathon are being donated to Prime Minister relief fund and other causes.
The aim of “Bobby’s Walk full circle” is to raise funds for recognised causes both
within the UK and India. His walk is supported by Sterling Dental Foundation, U.K.
He started from Kanyakumari on 25th October, and have already walked over
400km following the east coast towards Chennai. He will then walk on to Kolkata, before
finishing his walk in New Delhi at the beginning of April 2016. He will complete the walk
aged 81.
His Walk through Chennai, Tamil Nadu is supported by Saveetha Dental College
in organizing a Oral Health Awareness Camp for the school children with the motto,
“Making Children Smile” during the month of November’15.
The reception for the same was held on 28th Nov 2015 at Saveetha
Dental College, Chennai. Dr. Deepak Nallasamy, Director of Academics, Saveetha
Dental College felicitated the guest. He added, Saveetha University feels proud in
supporting this event by organizing oral health awareness camp for the school children.
Dr. Rajan Bhanot, Ms. Shelin, Team members of “Bobby’s Walk Full Circle”
were also present in the meeting.
Mr. Balwant Singh Grewal expressed that people should extend their hands in
helping those in need. To emphazise the same, he adopted the Marathon run to create
awareness among the public on charity work.
