Around 463 students received their degrees at the 8th convocation of Saveetha University here on Wednesday( 18th march 2015).
Four students received their PhD and 157 students received their Postgraduate degrees.

Addressing the students, chief guest Hon'ble P.Kamalanathan, Deputy Education Minister,Govt.of Malaysia,said,Education is a very impotent part of our life.Education shapes the fundamentals of how we react or respond, and more importantly, equips us with the right knowledge and skills that allow us to succeed in life.value which ascribe to the highest levels of academic distinction, academic freedom and accountability;values that encourage innovation, individuality
and collective effort.And, values that strike to promote integrity and respect  for diversity and
human dignity. Notice a world beyond yourself and put these values in to practice by serving the nation, your community and the less fortunate members of our community.
He added,True learning  transcends the frontiers of cities and countries wherever they may be situated in the world, as well as those of their languages and cultures. For the really learned person, the process of learning is continuous wherever you are.
During the event Prof.R.Venkataswami, The Head, Apollo's National Institute for Re-constructive Surgery and
Prof.N.R.Madhava Menon, IBA Chair on Continuing Legal Education,National Law School of India University were conferred with the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa).
The 8th convocation ceremony is presided by the founder president and Chancellor of Saveetha University Dr. N M Veeraiyan.Vice-Chancellor Dr.Mythili Bhaskaran,University Academic of Education Director Dr.Deepak Nallaswamy,Advicer Dr.R.Rajagopal,Registrar Dr.D Prabhavathy, Director of SMC( Saveetha medical science)Dr.Saveetha Rajesh,Director Dr.Remya Deepak,
Direcor Dr.S.rajesh were also present on the occasion.
This ceremony is held at Saveetha’s  M M Conventional centre, near velappanchavady.
