Saveetha Dental College through various departments is continuously conducting free oral healthscreening camps. Dental Health Education Campaigns are being conducted across various domains.Identifying high-risk groups and socially disadvantaged groups is one of the key principle in planning of oral health programmes. This helps in matching the resources with ever increasing need in country like India.One such dental camp was organized for Prison inmates during Dec’14. Central Prison -I, Puzhal is a prison complex located in Chennai India. The camp was inaugurated by Thiru.Rajendran, DIG-(Range), Tamil Nadu prison Department. 142 inmates benefited from the camp. Free oral health packs were distributed to all. We are proud to say that we have been permitted to set up a dental clinic inside the prison campus, where we can continue our dental service for the prison inmates periodically.
