ORAL HEALTH SCREENING AND TREATMENT CAMP
(Central Prison, Convict I And II , Puzhal.)



Saveetha Dental College is periodically organising Oral health screening and treatment camp at Central Prison, Convict I and II , Puzhal in month of february 119 inmates were screened of which 24 were treated. This service was highly recognised by Government of Tamil Nadu, Tamilnadu Prison Department. On 5th February Thiru.S.Rajendran, DIG(Range) supervised the Program and appreciated the dental team for the valuable services rendered to the inmates.

Saveetha dental college in association with Kongu Nanbargal Sangam organized A One Day Free Mega Dental Health Camp at Royapettah, around 66 people actively participated and benefited. Students from Saveetha Dental College delivered oral health education to the participants.

NON- STOP CODING MARATHON

(HACKATHON)

Students were working overnight on developing the application in various platform viz., Android, Web based, Windows and Linux. The picture was taken around 10.30pm  











Saveetha University is known for its unique ideas and innovations. For the first time in India, Saveetha School of Engineering has organised a 24 hours non- stop coding marathon(HACKATHON) on 20th& 21stFeb 2015 at university level. Around 174 students with 39 teams participated in this competition and developed 44 applications within this shorter duration. They developed applications for Android platforms, web applications, anti- virus softwares, Windows mobile applications etc under surveillance. The event was inaugurated by The Chancellor Dr. N. M Veeraiyan, Saveetha University and ChancellorDr.KhalidGhailan, AzalUniversity,Yamen. Presided by DeanDr.MohammedAlshaabi, Azal University, Yamen, Vice Chancellor and Director, Saveetha University. The Hackathon was started at 2:00 pm on 20thFebruary 2015 and it ends at 2:00 PM on 21stFebruary 2015. All the applications developed were assessed by experts from IT companies. They were impressed by the quality of the application that was developed by Saveetha Students.

Mr. Dwarakanath CEO, Benchmark Software Solutions has appraised the event and saidthe fraternity of Saveetha was thrilled at the successful completion of the event that challenged the young potential minds and kindled their spirit.

Saveetha School of Engineering has already given value addition programs on Android Application development, web designing, and networking and on windows mobile application development.  This has greatly helped the students during the competition.

One of the students mentioned that" it was a special and a unique experience we had. We were actually surprised to realise that we have developed an application in 24 hours. Saveetha University always make us stay ahead of time and we are proud that we are the first one to introduce Coding Marathon in India at students level".   This opportunity has improved the aptitude and acumen of the students.

The Chancellor of Saveetha University Dr. N. M Veeraiyan, handed over a Tablet worthRs.10000 to the winning team who developed the best app within 24 hours and the second prize was a MobileworthRs.6000.
