Chennai:Educational Assessment and Rating (ERA) Foundation invites applications for Uni GAUGE Under Graduate Engineering, Medical and Dental (Uni-GAUGE EMeD) for the year 2015.
Uni GAUGE EMeD 2015 is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to Under Graduate ENGINEERING, MEDICAL and DENTAL at Educational Assessment and Rating (ERA) Foundation
Uni-GAUGE-Under Graduate Engineering, Medical and Dental (Uni GAUGE EMeD) is conducted by Educational Assessment and Rating (ERA) Foundation.
Saveetha university is one of the first in Tamil Nadu to utilise this common entrance test - called UniGAUGE - for admissions to undergraduate
and postgraduate dental,and medical and engineering courses.
Introduction
=> Educational Assessment and Rating Foundation, is a “Not-for-profit” company incorporated under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1956
=> ERA is an initiative of Educational Assessment and Rating Foundation
=> ERA conducts “Uni-GAUGE-Under Graduate Engineering, Medical and Dental 2015” (Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015). This is an entrance examination
for candidates seeking admissions to Under Graduate Engineering, Medical and Dental degree courses during academic year 2015-16.These degree courses include BE (Bachelor of Engineering); B-Tech (Bachelor of Technology); MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery); BDS (Bachelor of Dental surgery)
=> “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015" is a pan-India, computer based test. ERA has partnered with TCS-iON, a subsidiary of TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) for conducting this computer based test across India.
=> ERA will conduct “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” in about 60 cities across India.
=> ERA will attempt to make this examination as inclusive as possible.
=> Towards this, it will make judicious use of technology, marketing and related infrastructure.
=> It will build the Uni-GAUGE brand for the benefit of its participating member universities/institutions
Candidates appearing for “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015" will be eligible to seek admission to bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Medical and Dental programs
of the participating universities/Institutions.
Uni GAUGE EMeD Eligibility Criteria:
Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility criteria for Engineering Programmes - BE and B. Tech courses is as follows:
A. The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. / B.Tech is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination
recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subject, (Biology or Bio-technology instead of chemistry for BE/B-Tech and Bio Technology) or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subject, with English as a compulsory subject.
B. The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subjects.
C. The candidates who are appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination and expecting the percentage of marks as at (b) are also eligible to apply
Other Eligibility Criteria:
A. The candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2015 i.e. the candidate should be born on or before 31st Dec 1998
B. Additional criteria including, number of attempts, age limit, reservations for regional, social, economic, linguistic minority, if any, will be made available by participating universities/institutions on their respective websites. Candidates are requested to familiarise themselves with the eligibility criteria by visiting the websites of the participating universities/ institutions.
C. Candidates are required to provide a declaration about their eligibility to ERA foundation while filling up the application form online. However
the relevant proofs are to be submitted directly to Universities/Institutions, as required.
Eligibility criteria for UG Medical and Dental courses is as follows:
=> The candidates should have qualified in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.
=> The General Merit candidates must have passed these subjects (PCB) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of the respective State). The General Merit Candidate Must also secure not less than 50% marks (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of respective state) in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015
=> The candidates who are appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination and expecting the percentage of marks as at (b) are also eligible to apply.

Uni-GAUGE Under Graduate Engineering, Medical and Dental 2015 (Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015)
Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 is being conducted for merit determination, for use by participating Universities/Institutions only.
Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2015-2016.
The test will be for admissions into bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE or B-Tech), Medicine (MBBS & surgery) and Dental (BDS) courses
Mode of Examination
Uni GAUGE EMeD is Computer Based Test (CBT).
Application Procedure for Uni GAUGE EMeD:
Candidates are advised to refer to official notifications /documents for detailed application procedure. IndCareer.com published details for informational purpose.
=> To register for Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015, please refer to ERA website (www.erafoundationindia.org). This has a registration form along with suitable
instructions.
=> On Registration the applicant will be provided with Login ID and Password.
=> The application process requires the candidate to complete the prescribed application form and submit it along with relevant documents and prescribed fees. ERA website (www.erafoundationindia.org) has suitable forms, a facility to upload and download documents, and to pay fees. It will also have suitable instructions.
=> Please read carefully and follow the instructions for completing application process.
=> You can choose three cities at the time of filling the application form.
=> Each city can have one or more centres. The allocation of centres is done through a computer assisted randomization/optimization process. The allocated centre will be communicated on the online test admission ticket (online TAT)

Fees for Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015:
=> For Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) – Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
=> For Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) - Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
=> For Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) - Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand)
This fee is non-refundable.
