Around 463 students received their degrees at the 8th convocation of Saveetha University here on Wednesday( 18th march 2015).
Four students received their PhD and 157 students received their Postgraduate degrees.

Addressing the students, chief guest Hon'ble P.Kamalanathan, Deputy Education Minister,Govt.of Malaysia,said,Education is a very impotent part of our life.Education shapes the fundamentals of how we react or respond, and more importantly, equips us with the right knowledge and skills that allow us to succeed in life.value which ascribe to the highest levels of academic distinction, academic freedom and accountability;values that encourage innovation, individuality
and collective effort.And, values that strike to promote integrity and respect  for diversity and
human dignity. Notice a world beyond yourself and put these values in to practice by serving the nation, your community and the less fortunate members of our community.
He added,True learning  transcends the frontiers of cities and countries wherever they may be situated in the world, as well as those of their languages and cultures. For the really learned person, the process of learning is continuous wherever you are.
During the event Prof.R.Venkataswami, The Head, Apollo's National Institute for Re-constructive Surgery and
Prof.N.R.Madhava Menon, IBA Chair on Continuing Legal Education,National Law School of India University were conferred with the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa).
The 8th convocation ceremony is presided by the founder president and Chancellor of Saveetha University Dr. N M Veeraiyan.Vice-Chancellor Dr.Mythili Bhaskaran,University Academic of Education Director Dr.Deepak Nallaswamy,Advicer Dr.R.Rajagopal,Registrar Dr.D Prabhavathy, Director of SMC( Saveetha medical science)Dr.Saveetha Rajesh,Director Dr.Remya Deepak,
Direcor Dr.S.rajesh were also present on the occasion.
This ceremony is held at Saveetha’s  M M Conventional centre, near velappanchavady.

Saveetha University announces “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015”

Chennai:Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 - Single entrance exam for multiple universities for the students seeking admissions to Engineering, Medical and Dental at undergraduate level.Exam will be held on 26th April 2015

ERA foundation (Education Rating and Assessment Foundation), a non-profit body has launched “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” for students seeking admissions to Engineering, Medical and Dental at undergraduate level.
Saveetha University joint hands with ERA foundation to conduct  UniGAUGE in 60 centres across the country this year.

With Uni-GAUGE EMeD, candidates seeking admission to B.Tech, B.E, M.B.B.S and B.D.S courses now have the facility to write a single entrance exam and seek admission in multiple universities which are the participating universities of ERA.
These universities will accept “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” score as one of the criteria for admission to bachelors’ degrees in engineering, medical and dental courses for the academic year 2015-2016.
The first Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 Exam will be held on 26th April 2015.

Saveetha university is one of the first in Tamil Nadu to utilise this common entrance test - called UniGAUGE - for admissions to undergraduate
and postgraduate dental,medical and engineering courses.
Saveetha University,M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Reva University, Kolar’s Sri Devraj Urs University, Faridabad’s Manav Rachna
University, Guntur’s KL University,
Karpagam University, Periyar Maniammai University, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya SCSVM University
are some of the participating universities. More universities are slated to join the Uni-GAUGE platform shortly.

Eligible candidates should have qualified in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government.
The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology (PCB/PCM) with English as a compulsory subject.

The fee structure for “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” is as mentioned below:
For Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) – Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
For Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) – Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
For Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB) – Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand)
This fee is non-refundable.

Uni-GAUGE is a computer-aided, pan-India, entrance evaluation platform. Uni” alludes to university (institution of learning), uniform (consistent), unique (unparalleled), universal (concerning all). “Gauge” – is an estimate of assessment or a measure. GAUGE is so an acronym for Graduate and Under-Graduate Entrance. “Uni-GAUGE” is a pan-India, computer-aided assessment platform. It stands for trust,transparency and reliability in assessment.

Uni-GAUGE partners with universities to offer them several benefits including:
Improve their ability to access students across the country,Have a reliable, efficient, technology enabled entrance test,Segregate entrance evaluation and admission processes,
The partner universities will accept Uni-GAUGE scores, as one of the criteria for admission. However, they will have complete autonomy on their admission process.

Uni-GAUGE is beneficial to student community as it enables them to apply to multiple universities through a single gateway. In the current scenario, students apply to many universities leading to wastage of time, money and efforts.

ERA foundation will also focus on two supporting platforms vizaccreditation including programmatic rating for medical and technical education and skill building in the education sector.

It has plans to assist the student community by providing scholarships, free counseling, career guidance and professional consultancy.

Registrations are open -and the last date of submitting application is 4th April 2015 and to register and apply for Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015,
