Saveetha school of engineering students received 15 IET YP awards

Chennai:  Saveetha School of Engineering students received 15 IET YP Chennai local network Awards.

Every year IET YP Chennai network is very gracious to provide awards to the IET members in order to appreciate the engineers for their academic performance, research and extracurricular activities.

 This year, Saveetha School of Engineering students got 15 awards under different categories. The Award ceremony was held on 22^nd march 2015 at SRM University,  Vadapalani Campus. The Founder of meraenglish.com, Mr. Santhosh Karnanada, handed over the awards to the winners.

Saveetha University and Saveetha Engineering College will hold trials for Sports Quota Admission at its Thandalam campus on April 7th &8th 2015. Those seeking to join Engineering, Management, physiotherapy, B.Sc-Nursing through the sports quota for the year 2015-2016 can take part. The trials will be held for the following:

7th  April – Volleyball (M&W),Chess (M&W), Ball Badminton (M&W), Tennis (M&W), Cricket (M&W), kabaddi (M&W) Throw ball (W).

8th  April –Football (M), Hockey (M), Badminton (M&W),

Table Tennis (M & W), Athletics (M&W), Handball (M&W),Kho-Kho(M&W)
Those interested (both men and women) are requested to report along with testimonials and certificates at 8.30 a.m.

WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION HELD 

AT SAVEETHA SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING 

The International Women’s Day was celebrated at Saveetha school of engineering,
thandalam on March 25,2015 by the Women Faculties of Saveetha School of  Engineering.

The Celebration starts with Prayer Song. Welcome address was delivered by Ms.Anusya Assoc. Prof CSE/IT.Director of SSE Ms.Ramya Deepak delivered Women’s Day Address. Principal of SSE Dr.P.Shankar, and Vice Principal Dr.D.Dhanasekaran delivered a special note.
After this inauguration function, Workshop on Jewelry making by Lions Club of Golden Hearts was conducted till 1:00 pm. Post-lunch session started with culturals. In the meantime, games like balloon blast, Bucket-ball-spoon, Searching own possession, Lucky Draw were also conducted.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of the games. And finally the celebration ended with National Anthem.

Around 463 students received their degrees at the 8th convocation of Saveetha University here on Wednesday( 18th march 2015).
Four students received their PhD and 157 students received their Postgraduate degrees.

Addressing the students, chief guest Hon'ble P.Kamalanathan, Deputy Education Minister,Govt.of Malaysia,said,Education is a very impotent part of our life.Education shapes the fundamentals of how we react or respond, and more importantly, equips us with the right knowledge and skills that allow us to succeed in life.value which ascribe to the highest levels of academic distinction, academic freedom and accountability;values that encourage innovation, individuality
and collective effort.And, values that strike to promote integrity and respect  for diversity and
human dignity. Notice a world beyond yourself and put these values in to practice by serving the nation, your community and the less fortunate members of our community.
He added,True learning  transcends the frontiers of cities and countries wherever they may be situated in the world, as well as those of their languages and cultures. For the really learned person, the process of learning is continuous wherever you are.
During the event Prof.R.Venkataswami, The Head, Apollo's National Institute for Re-constructive Surgery and
Prof.N.R.Madhava Menon, IBA Chair on Continuing Legal Education,National Law School of India University were conferred with the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa).
The 8th convocation ceremony is presided by the founder president and Chancellor of Saveetha University Dr. N M Veeraiyan.Vice-Chancellor Dr.Mythili Bhaskaran,University Academic of Education Director Dr.Deepak Nallaswamy,Advicer Dr.R.Rajagopal,Registrar Dr.D Prabhavathy, Director of SMC( Saveetha medical science)Dr.Saveetha Rajesh,Director Dr.Remya Deepak,
Direcor Dr.S.rajesh were also present on the occasion.
This ceremony is held at Saveetha’s  M M Conventional centre, near velappanchavady.
